Viola Davis Will Play Michelle Obama For The Series FIRST LADIES For Showtime

In the new series entitled First Ladies that is being developed at Showtime, Oscar winner Viola Davis (The Help, Fences) will be playing former first lady Michelle Obama. So far, the hour-long dramatic series has a three episode deal, and will focus on Obama, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Betty Ford. Variety reports the following description of the series:

“First Ladies” will turn it lens on the East Wing of the White House, as opposed to the West, where many of history’s most impactful and world changing decisions have been hidden from view, made by America’s charismatic, complex and dynamic First Ladies.

The series will focus on both the personal and political lives of these incredible ladies. It will be so interesting to see the true stories unfold in a new light. We will keep you posted when we hear more about casting and time frame. Does this sound like an interesting series to you?
