VIOLENT NIGHT 2 Moving Forward with Tommy Wirkola Directing and It Will Expand the World

The hardcore action Christmas movie Violent Night is officially getting a sequel with director Tommy Wirkola returning to direct it! I’m not surprised as the film had a successful run at the box office, but more importantly, it was a blast to watch!

During a recent interview with The Wrap, Wirkola was asked if we would be getting a sequel and he said, “Yes!” He went on to add, “We’re talking about it and we’re just making deals and getting everything in order.”

This is great news and it will; be interesting to see what adventure is in store for David Harbour’s Santa next! As of right now, they are just working on getting a script together, and that script is being written by original writers,Pat Casey and Josh Miller. Wirkola went on to add:

“We have time to really crack the script and figure out the story, and we have some ideas, me and Pat and Josh and the producers, we’ve been talking about where we want to take it and what we want to see.”

When it comes to the story for the sequel, we can expect to see a lot more of the traditional Santa Claus mythology, but with that Violent Night charm and it will also expand on the world. The director said:

“There’s stuff we left on the floor like the North Pole, Mrs. Claus, the elves. But story-wise I think we have a really, really cool idea that expands on the world and scope, but still keeping that tone that we love from the first one.”

So, everybody be good this year! We need Santa to deliver us another entertaining Violent Night movie during the holidays!
