VISIONQUEST Rumor Teases a Possible Happy Ending for Scarlet Witch and Vision in the MCU
Marvel fans have spent years wondering if Wanda Maximoff and Vision could somehow find their way back to each other, and a new VisionQuest rumor suggests their MCU story may actually end on a surprisingly happy note.
The upcoming Disney+ series is set to close out the trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. While Marvel is keeping major story details under wraps, a new claim making the rounds could be a pretty huge deal for Scarlet Witch fans.
A fan recently asked scooper James Mack on X whether Wanda and Vision will reunite in VisionQuest. Mack responded: “Yes, the Multiverse Saga started with W4nd and Vision, and it will end with them having a happy ending.”
That's certainly the kind of rumor Wanda fans will want to hear, especially after everything the character has been through. Still, this should absolutely be treated as a rumor for now. Marvel hasn't announced that Elizabeth Olsen will return as Scarlet Witch in VisionQuest, nor has the studio confirmed a Wanda and Vision reunion.
The last time we saw Wanda was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where her story appeared to come to a tragic end. After realizing what the Darkhold had turned her into, Wanda brought Mount Wundagore crashing down on herself while destroying every version of the Darkhold across the multiverse.
Of course, presumed dead and actually dead are two very different things in the MCU, particularly when you're dealing with one of the most powerful characters in Marvel's universe. Fans have been waiting to see when and how Scarlet Witch might return ever since.
VisionQuest will instead put the focus on White Vision, with Paul Bettany returning to play the character. White Vision was introduced near the end of WandaVision and ultimately regained Vision's memories before flying away to destinations unknown. The new series will finally pick up his story.
There's also another major MCU return in store. During D23, footage shown at the VisionQuest booth confirmed that James Spader is back as Ultron. The footage reportedly presented Ultron in a form that was part robotic and part human before eventually revealing his fully human appearance.
Ultron hasn't been a major part of the MCU since Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015, when the rogue artificial intelligence attempted to wipe out humanity. Bringing him back for a story centered on Vision makes for an interesting reunion considering their shared history and origins.
The VisionQuest cast also includes Emily Hampshire, Diane Morgan, Orla Brady, James D'Arcy, T'Nia Miller, Ruaridh Mollica, and Henry Lewis, among others. The series is directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Terry Matalas, and Vincenzo Natali.
If the Scarlet Witch rumor turns out to be true, it would be great to see the Wanda and Vision story full circle. WandaVision kicked off the Multiverse Saga's Disney+ era with a story built around grief, love, identity, and Wanda's inability to accept losing Vision.
Giving the two characters another chance at a life together would be a much different destination than where Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness left Wanda.
Whether that reunion actually happens remains to be seen, but it's easy to understand why Scarlet Witch fans would get excited about the possibility. After years of magical chaos, killer robots, alternate realities, and heartbreak, maybe Wanda and Vision really will get their happy ending.
VisionQuest is currently set to premiere October 14, 2026.
