VISIONQUEST Trailer Reveals Human Ultron, Wanda’s Son, and the Next Chapter of the WANDAVISION Saga
The first trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Disney+ series VisionQuest premiered at New York Comic Con, giving fans a sneak peek at what’s shaping up to be one of the most intriguing entries in the MCU’s television lineup.
The series was created by Terry Matalas, and it brings back Paul Bettany as Vision, but with some unexpected twists that are sure to grab the attention of Marvel fans everywhere.
According to a trailer description from Variety, the footage featured Bettany not only as the White Vision audiences last saw at the end of WandaVision, but also as a human version of the synthezoid.
“The trailer showed Bettany back as White Vision from the ending of WandaVision, plus a regular-looking human version,” the report reads.
“There was also human versions of Ultron, who was voiced by James Spader in the second Avengers movie, and the AI programs Jarvis, Friday, and Edith. At the end of the trailer, there was a brief shot of an adult Tommy, Vision and Wanda’s son that appeared as a child in WandaVision.”
The footage also hinted at the broader scope of the story, connecting it directly to WandaVision and Agatha All Along.
“Vision Quest was described as the third part of a trilogy that included WandaVision and Agatha All Along. In the trailer, Bettany walks up to a white mansion and is greeted by human servants who are really just recreated AI programs.
“They include Jarvis, who was Tony Stark’s AI program that later became Vision; Friday, who replaced Jarvis and was the AI assistant to Stark and Spider-Man; and Edith, the AI program in Stark’s sunglasses from Spider-Man: Far From Home.”
This new evolution of Vision’s story seems to explore what it means to be human, a theme that’s been at the heart of the character since his MCU debut. The idea of humanized AI versions of Ultron, Jarvis, Friday, and Edith adds a fascinating new layer to the narrative, suggesting a world where artificial intelligence may be taking on more tangible, emotional forms.
Alongside Bettany VisionQuest and Spader, the series also features Todd Stashwick as Paladin, Ruaridh Mollica as Thomas Shepherd, T’Nia Miller as Jocasta, Emily Hampshire as Edith, Orla Brady as Friday, and Faran Tahir as Raza.
VisionQuest will serve as both a continuation and a philosophical deep dive into Vision’s journey after WandaVision. Fans can expect more heart, introspection, and, of course, plenty of Marvel-style mystery when the series premieres on Disney+ in 2026.
