VISIONQUEST’s Spider-Man Reference Includes a Hidden Easter Egg MCU Fans May Have Missed

Marvel's VisionQuest managed to sneak a pretty cool Spider-Man Easter egg into its story, and while some fans likely caught the reference to Peter Parker, there's another little detail that makes the moment even better.

The Disney+ series, which brings the WandaVision trilogy to a close, features an amusing exchange between White Vision and E.D.I.T.H., the artificial intelligence previously used by Spider-Man. However, the dialogue isn't the only connection to everyone's favorite web-slinger.

During a conversation with E.D.I.T.H., played by Emily Hampshire, Vision, played by Paul Bettany, admits, “I am having a profoundly difficult time navigating teenagers!” E.D.I.T.H. responds with, “Woof, tell me about it. My first boss was a junior in high school.”

Of course, she's talking about Peter Parker, who inherited Tony Stark's advanced AI system in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

It's a fun callback, but Marvel slipped in another detail that viewers might have missed. During the exchange, a brief piece of Spider-Man's musical score can be heard in the background, giving the scene an extra connection to Peter Parker and his MCU adventures.

It's the kind of small touch that makes revisiting these Marvel projects fun, especially when the connections go beyond the dialogue. The Spider-Man reference is just one of several ways VisionQuest brings together characters and storylines from across the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The series picks up White Vision's story following his departure from Westview in WandaVision. After regaining the memories of the original Vision, he disappeared, leaving fans wondering what happened to him. VisionQuest reveals that he's been living a secret life in Edinburgh.

The show also reunites several familiar MCU artificial intelligences, including J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., and Ultron, with James Spader returning as the villain.

One of the bigger revelations connects directly to Avengers: Age of Ultron. Although Vision seemingly destroyed Ultron in that film, VisionQuest reveals that he actually preserved a piece of the villain inside his own processors.

Showrunner Terry Matalas also introduces Thomas Shepherd, the reincarnated version of Wanda Maximoff and Vision's son Tommy, bringing another important piece of the Maximoff family story into the series.

There's also the introduction of Paladin, with hints about his previous encounters with Daredevil and the Punisher, expanding the show's connections to the MCU's street-level characters.

With all these familiar faces, returning AI systems, and references to earlier Marvel projects, VisionQuest has plenty for longtime fans to pick apart.

Still, the E.D.I.T.H. moment is a fun moment of Marvel rewarding fans who pay attention to the little details. The Peter Parker joke is easy enough to catch, but slipping Spider-Man's music into the scene is a nice extra touch.
