Vissles Launches Kickstarter for LP85 Wireless Keyboard
Vissles recently launched a Kickstarter for a new wireless keyboard to enjoy, the Vissles LP85. This is an ultra-slim tenkeyless keyboard that can connect to your devices via an included USB-C (or any USB-C really) cable or Bluetooth. It uses premium X-optical switches, but does have a nice snap that helps it feel more like a mechanical keyboard. There are Mac and Windows layouts available, it comes in black or white, and it’s backlit with over 19 pre-programmed modes. The chassis is made of anodized aluminum which helps it feel like it’ll last and it has a slight, 2-degree slant downward.
The team at Vissles was kind enough to send me an LP85 to try out and I’ve been enjoying it. I typically prefer full keyboards with the number pad, which means that it has taken some getting used to, but it’s been nice. The keys themselves are optical, but do feel very similar to a mechanical keyboard. They are the chiclet style which some people will love and others wont’ care for. There’s no software for you to download and use which is nice, but it also means that you can’t customize the lighting patterns in any way. The keyboard is really thin which is nice, but I do wish it had a slightly steeper slant. That’s going to be personal preference, but I found it a little too flat. If you like the smaller keyboards and want to have something with Bluetooth, the LP85 is actually a solid choice.
You can get your LP85 through Kickstarter now for only $99
