Wacky Trailer For THE MINIATURE WIFE Shrinks Elizabeth Banks and Blows Up a Marriage on Peacock
Peacock just released the full trailer for The Miniature Wife, and it’s exactly the kind of off-the-wall relationship comedy you’d hope for when you hear the words “Elizabeth Banks” and “shrinking accident” in the same sentence.
The series premieres April 9, 2026, and it takes a wild sci-fi premise and turns it into a wild marital showdown. Think Honey, I Shrunk the Kids by way of Downsizing, but instead of focusing on spectacle, this one zooms in on a marriage cracking under pressure.
The story centers on Lindy and Les, played by Elizabeth Banks and Matthew Macfadyen, a couple whose already complicated relationship gets flipped upside down when a technological mishap leaves Lindy tiny.
The accident sparks choas and a full-on reassessment of power in their marriage, turning everyday domestic life into a strategic battle of wills.

The series is based on the short story “The Miniature Wife” by Manuel Gonzales, whose work leans into slightly surreal setups to explore very human flaws.
As the book’s introduction explains: “In slightly fantastical settings, Gonzales illustrates very real guilt over small and large marital missteps, the intense desire for the reinvention of self, and the powerful urges we feel to defend and provide for the people we love.”
That emotional core is intact here, even as the trailer gleefully plays with oversized furniture, improvised tools, and the absurd logistics of navigating life at a fraction of your original height.
Banks looks like she’s having a ton of fun with the physical comedy, while Macfadyen leans into the increasingly fragile ego of a husband who suddenly has the upper hand, at least physically.
The ensemble cast rounds things out with Zoe Lister-Jones, Sofia Rosinsky, O-T Fagbenle, Sian Clifford, Ronny Chieng, Aasif Mandvi, Rong Fu, and Tricia Black, all orbiting the couple’s escalating domestic standoff.
The Miniature Wife was created, written, and showrun by Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner, who previously worked on series like Banshee, Ash vs Evil Dead, Kingdom, and Goliath. Episodes are directed by Greg Mottola and Bertie Ellwood, with Lori A. Waters producing.
