With COVID-19 keeping movie theaters shut down for an extended period of time, Wal-Mart has revealed plans to transform their big parking lots into drive-in movie theaters next month, in August.

As you may have heard, drive-in theaters are all the rage right now. People are loving them! You can watch a movie on a big screen in the comfort of your own car. There are no worries about coming in contact with any other human being.

Here’s the tweet that Wal-Mart sent out:

I’ve gotta say, this is a pretty cool and smart idea. They’ve certainly got the parking lot space to do it! It also opens up the opportunity for a lot of people to enjoy the drive-in movie experience that don’t live near an actual drive-in theater.

There were no details given on what movies Wal-Mart is planning to show at its drive-in theaters, but they’ve created a website that sets early August for their openings. Details on what movies will be shown will be revealed in the near future, so stay tuned!

Will you be attending one of these Wal-Mart drive-ins!?
