Walmart Might Be Looking Into Launching A Streaming Service

Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon have dominated the streaming game for quite a while now, but they soon may have to compete with one of their fiercest adversaries yet. Walmart has toppled most mom and pop grocery stores across America, and it's looking like they're going to attempt the same thing with streaming according to some reported info.

Variety says Walmart is looking into creating a streaming service that caters to "middle America," with a price point around $8. Apparently, Netflix and Amazon are more popular in coastal states, which is why Walmart is thinking it can maintain a foothold in the Midwest and South with a new service. Walmart has denied comment on the reports, although the company is already in the streaming game with Vudu, which it acquired in 2010.

As someone in the Midwest with Netflix who frequently talks to a lot of other midwesterners with Netflix, I'm kind of confused by the logic here, but I'll never say no to a high-quality streaming service. Let's just hope it's jam-packed with great movies, as that seems to be a rare find in the big dog streaming companies these days.
