WANDAVISION Will Dig Deeper in The Characters' Pasts Including Wanda and Pietro's Relationship

As Marvel’s WandaVision proceeds, we are going to learn a lot more about the characters’ pasts and it’s also said that it will give us a whole new perspective on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

During a recent interview with The Wrap, showrunner Jac Schaeffer opened up about what we can expect moving forward, saying:

"The show is about Wanda and Vision and it’s an opportunity to dig deeper into who they are. And that has to do with where they come from. We’re all a product of our experiences and our trauma and our relationships. And so we will be exploring all of those details of their pasts as we move forward."

While we’re on the subject of trauma and relationships, this is something that Wanda has had to deal with several times throughout her life. One of her biggest tragedies came when her brother Pietro died thanks to Ultron. It was very interesting in the last episode when “Geraldine”, who is really Monica Rambeau, started asking Wanda questions about her brother.

Schaeffer teased that we’ll learn more about Wanda’s past with her brother as the series goes along. So, there’s a chance that we actually might see the character return, which would be fascinating.

In a separate interview with Lights, Camera, Barstool, Paul Bettany talked about the series giving us a whole new perspective on the MCU, saying:

"I think [people are] gonna be massively surprised by the end of the show. I really think people are gonna be like, 'Oh my God!' And they're gonna look at the MCU in a whole new light, and also have a much deeper understanding about in what direction it's moving."

He also teased that something is coming that's been kept a secret so far, featuring an actor he's always wanted to work with. It’ll be interesting to see what that ends up being!

Three episodes in and I’m enjoying the show. It’s mostly been set up for bigger things to come and I’m excited to start seeing this story unfold in big unexpected ways as it continues to play out.
