Warner Bros. and DC Are Developing a PLASTIC MAN Movie

I’ve seen a lot of DC fans talk about how much they would like to see a sequel to Man of Steel. Superman is one of their strangest characters in every sense of the word, but instead the studio is developing a Plastic Man movie.

The news of the Plastic Man film comes from Deadline, and they are reporting that Amanda Idoko (Breaking News in Yuba County) is set to write the script. Idoko really hasn’t done much, so this is going to be a huge project for her. As of right now the film doesn’t have a director or a greenlight, but they are developing it.

I can see why they’d want to make a Plastic Man movie. It’s a character that can deliver a lot of comedy, and that’s something they might be looking at tapping into more, especially with fans so excited about Shazam!, which is going to have a good amount of comedy.

Plastic Man was created by Jack Cole in 1941. He joined DC Comics in 1956, and he was a member of the Justice League. Plastic Man’s real name is Patrick “Eel” O’Brian, he was originally a crook who was saved by Batman from an acid vat. But that vat gave him the powers to bend and twist his body into any form. He’s a very comedic character, but beneath his joking exterior, he is a valuable asset in any situation.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Plastic Man is a great and hilarious character. There’s a lot of fun and wacky potential for him on the big screen. I’m just a little surprised that they are actually looking at making a Plastic Man movie. But, I guess it was only a matter of time.

What are your thoughts on WB and DC putting a Plastic Man film in development?
