Warner Bros. Announces THE NUN 2 and It Will Be Directed by James Wan Collaborator Michael Chaves

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema recently announced that they are developing The Nun 2. James Wan is producing the film and it will be directed by Michael Chaves, who was discovered by Wan. Chavez previously helmed Curse of La Llorona and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.

The first Nun movie was directed by Corin Hardy (The Hallow), and it’s considered one of the worst films in The Conjuring franchise. Chaves worked behind the scenes on that film, and now he will take full control of the sequel. Wan obviously has faith that Chaves will be able to do some great and scary things with the sequel.

The Nun follows a priest with a haunted past and a novice on the threshold of her final vows who are sent by the Vatican to investigate the death of a young nun in Romania and confront a malevolent force in the form of a demonic nun. There’s no word on what story the sequel will tell.

Akela Cooper (Malignant) is writing the script for The Nun 2. I hope this sequel ends up being better than the first movie.
