Warner Bros. Discovery Removes Over Half – 250 Episodes – of LOONEY TUNES From HBO Max
A new Tweet revealed that Warner Bros. Discovery has removed over half of the episodes of Looney Tunes from HBO Max. In the new year, Seasons 16-31 of the classic animated series, representing 256 of the 511 episodes which had been hosted on the streaming platform, have been taken down from the streamer. This comes on the heels of Aquaman: King of Atlantis, Infinity Train, and the majority of Sesame Street episodes dropping away from HBO Max as well.
Fans have made a fuss over the lost content, only for WB to respond saying that they are only removing the content that isn’t viewed often enough to warrant its stay.
HBO Max has also reportedly removed Seasons 4-6 of The Flintstones, a long-running IP that has had bad luck in recent years. A planned second season of the spinoff Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs was cancelled, and the first season split up into two installments, before finally being removed from HBO Max altogether in August.
Warner Bros. Discovery is reportedly developing a free-with-ads streaming platform to compete with things like Tubi and the Roku Channel. Don't be surprised if Looney Tunes, Flintstones, and other iconic IP find their way there.
