Warner Bros. Doesn't Think Superman Is Relevant to Modern Audiences and That's Just Crazy

In a recent report from Variety, it’s made very clear that Warner Bros. has no idea how to handle the iconic superhero Superman. It’s explained that they don’t think that he’s relevant to modern audiences, so they are looking to people like J.J. Abrams and Michael B. Jordan to help them make Superman relevant again. The thing is… Superman is totally relevant! The fact they think he’s not is insane to me!

Seriously, if they can’t figure out how to tell a proper Superman story today, they shouldn’t be making movies. Superman is more relevant now than he’s ever been! This is a time the world needs a proper Superman movie most! Hell, if Mister Rogers and the things he taught are still relevant today, so is Superman! The character is eternally relevant!

The studio just needs to hire people who actually know how to tell his story, but they don’t need to make him relevant because he already is. They are all right there in the comic books. Tons of Superman stories that touch on issues that relate to what is happening in the world today. Superman is a genuinely good person and a beacon of hope who uses his power to help people and keep the world safe and he also holds others with power accountable for their actions. How can they not see the relevance of that!?

They obviously have no understanding of the character of Superman and what he stands for and means to the world, and that just makes me sad. If Marvel’s Kevin Feige got a hold of Superman, he’d know what to do with him! Maybe Marvel could get the rights to Superman!

What are your thoughts on WB thinking Superman isn’t relevant for today’s audiences?
