Warner Bros. Is Exploring Ideas for a Live-Action HARRY POTTER Series for HBO Max

Warner Bros. is in early development on a live-action Harry Potter series that would be coming to HBO Max. It would expand on J.K. Rowling's Wizarding World, but there are no details to share on what the series would entail.

According to THR, executives have had a series of meetings with writers with the goal of bringing the blockbuster franchise to television. It’s said that they are “exploring various ideas that would bring the beloved property to television. Sources say broad ideas have been discussed as part of the early-stage exploratory meetings.”

An HBO Max and WB spokesperson did tell THR, "There are no Harry Potter series in development at the studio or on the streaming platform." But, they were confident enough in their sources and intel that they still published the story and stand by their reporting, so I guess we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out.

One thing that we know for sure is one of WB’s top priorities to expand on the world of Harry Potter, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they are exploring ideas for a TV series. It seems like the logical thing a studio like WB would do, especially with an exclusive streaming service that they are looking to fill with original content.

What would you like to see from a TV series set in the Wizarding World?
