Warner Bros. Is Developing a Remake of UNDER SIEGE for HBO Max

The 1992 Steven Seagal action thriller Under Siege is now in the process of being remade at Warner Bros. for HBO Max. Timo Tjahjanto (V/H/S/2, The Night Comes for Us and May the Devil Take You) is set to direct from a script being written by Umair Aleem (Kate).

In the original film, Seagal played Casey Ryback, an ex-Navy Seal turned cook who takes on a group of nuclear terrorists who infiltrate the USS Missouri, a battleship en route to Pearl Harbor for decommissioning. They plan to steal the ship's nuclear arsenal. There’s no word on if Seagal will reprise his role, but if this is a remake, I’m sure that he’ll have nothing to do with it.

I’ve only seen Under Siege once, and that was when it was first released in theaters. I don’t even remember it that well, so It obviously didn’t leave a lasting impression on me. Maybe it’s time I revisit the film and see why Tjahjanto and Aleem have teamed up to remake it.

Here’s the original trailer for a little refresher! What do you think about Under Siege being remade? Do you remember the original film? If so, did you like it?
