Warner Bros. is Developing a SESAME STREET Movie with PORTLANDIA Director Jonathan Krisel
Warner Bros. is developing a feature film version of Sesame Street and they’ve hired Portlandia director and co-creator Jonathan Krisel to helm it.
Like many of you, I grew up watching Sesame Street. I think it makes for a perfect series for kids to watch. After spending 45 years on PBS, in 2015 it moved to HBO where the series currently airs.
This wouldn’t be the first time that a Sesame Street movie was made. There have been a few made since the 70s. None of them have been big hits, though, and some of them have gone straight to video.
There’s no information on what the story for this new Sesame Street film will entail, but if you’re a fan of the series, then it might be a film project worth keeping an eye on.
I enjoyed the show Portlandia and it would be fun to see Krisel bring that kind of humor and tone to Sesame Street. Are you looking forward to seeing a new Sesame Street movie get made?
