Warner Bros. is Planning a Remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS

THR recently announced that there is going to be a remake of the classic sci-fi film Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and the script will be written by David Leslie Johnson who was responsible for writing The Conjuring 2. With this choice, it appears that Warner Bros. wants to make sure that this is a true horror film and not a cheesy B movie.

I totally understand that there have been a lot of versions of this film. The original film was made in 1956 by director Don Siegel, which for its time, was a great horror movie. Then there was the 1978 film, my personal favorite, starring Jeff Goldblum and Donald Sutherland. The last remake was the 2007 Invasion, starring Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman, that looked so bad that I could never bring myself to watch it.

The story is based on the book that was released in 1954. The story is based on the visceral fear that the people you love and those around you are ALIENS! Well, at least they are alien copies of those around you.

In my opinion, this story is more of a suspense thriller than a horror film. I guess we will have to wait and see who they get to direct it, and it will form from there. Do you think that they should be remaking the Body Snatchers franchise?
