Warner Bros. Pushes Back Release Dates For TENET and WONDER WOMAN 1984
I was really hoping that Christopher Nolan’s Tenet would hold fast to the original release date of July 17th, but as a lot of people predicted, that’s not gonna happen.
Warner Bros. has pushed the release date back to the end of July and is now set to be released on July 31st. The studio also announced that director DC’s Wonder Woman 1984 has been moved from August 14th to October 2nd.
WB will be releasing a Christopher Nolan film on July 17th in theaters, though, they’ve announced that they will re-release his mind-bending epic Inception in theaters in honor of its 10th anniversary.
Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group said in a statement:
“We’re especially thrilled, in this complex and rapidly changing environment, to be bringing Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet,’ a global tentpole of jaw-dropping size, scope and scale, to theaters around the world on July 31st. It’s been longer than any of us could’ve imagined since we’ve seen a movie on the big screen, and to acknowledge Chris’ fans as we count down to ‘Tenet’’s” opening day, we are also excited to offer his masterpiece ‘Inception’ in theaters for its 10th anniversary on July 17.”
At least Tenet was only pushed back a couple of weeks. John David Washington stars in the upcoming sci-fi action spectacle along with Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Dimple Kapadia, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Clémence Poésy, Michael Caine, and Kenneth Branagh.
Armed with only one word—Tenet—and fighting for the survival of the entire world, the Protagonist journeys through a twilight world of international espionage on a mission that will unfold in something beyond real time.
Not time travel. Inversion.
I’m fascinated by what I’ve seen from this movie and I can’t wait to finally see how the story plays out.
