Warner Bros. Releasing 6 Films in ScreenX Format including SHAZAM! and GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS

CJ 4DPLEX and Warner Bros. are building their relationship as they enter into a deal to have up to six films released in the ScreenX format around the globe. We don’t know all the films that WB is planning to release under the agreement, but we do know that Shazam! (April 5), The Curse of La Llorona (April 19), and Godzilla: King of the Monsters (May 31) will be included. In a statement, CJ CEO JongRyul Kim said:

Warner Bros. Pictures continues to be a strong supporter and partner of the ScreenX cinematic experience, and we are beyond excited to grow that partnership with a release of six titles from their upcoming film lineup. We continue to expand this new technology to an ever increasing and loyal consumer fan base that will help shape the moviegoing landscape for years to come.

If you don’t know what ScreenX is, it’s an immersive format of film projection that involves expanding the screen to the side walls for a 270-degree view. Speaking of the partnership between CJ and WB, Head of International Distribution at WB, Thomas Molter, said:

As we look toward the future, we are excited to bring new experiences to audiences and continue to expand our partnerships to leverage innovative formats like ScreenX. As a company, we’re always looking to create unparalleled theatrical experiences for moviegoers, and CJ 4DPLEX works with us to showcase great stories in unique new ways.
