Warner Bros. Scrapped BATGIRL Movie Would Have Introduced the DC Villain Killer Moth
A behind the scenes photo from the set of the scrapped Batgirl movie has been shared on social media, and it reveals that the DC villain Killer Moth would have been introduced in the film. The information and photo was shared by Jules Wallace, who was the stunt double for the actor who played Killer Moth. The photo came with the following note:
"Doesn't seem much point keeping quiet about this now and sucks we won't get to see it on screen, but here you go. Doubled 'Killer Moth' in Batgirl, along with my pal Stevie who doubled Commissioner Gordon. Quite a long chaotic shoot but we had a great time and glad to see many of the US and European cast and crew left with a love of Glasgow and Scotland."
The look of the character is very different than what we know from the comics, which sees the villain wearing a purple suit with wings and a moth mask. He was the opposite of Batman and served as a guardian who protected the villains of Gotham City.
This live-action version of the character shows the character wearing a tracksuit with a fancy gold chain necklace and a watch, and on the back of his head features a tattoo of a moth and skull.
There’s no information on how the character would have been utilized in the story, but it sounds like he was going to play a decent-sized role in the film. In the comics, there was a point where KIller Moth and Firefly teamed up. Firefly was played by Brendan Fraser.
The movie was directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a script written by Christina Hodson, who previously wrote Bumblebee as well as DC’s Birds of Prey and The Flash. The movie also starred Leslie Grace Batgirl and Michael Keaton as Batman.
