Warner Bros. Shifts Release Dates For MORTAL KOMBAT and TOM AND JERRY Films
Warner Bros. shifted the release dates for a few of its upcoming movies including Mortal Kombat, Tom and Jerry, and Hugh Jackman’s sci-fi drama Reminiscence.
The new film adaptation of Mortal Kombat was originally set for Jan. 15, 2021, but the release has been moved to April 16th, 2021. Reminiscence was set to be released in mid-April, it has now been completely removed from the studio’s calendar. Then there’s the Tom and Jerry movie which was moved up a week and will premiere on February 26, 2021.
All three of the film will be released in theaters and on HBO Max on their release date.
Mortal Kombat was produced by James Wan, directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Greg Russo and Dave Callaham. The story follows” Earth’s greatest champions, who are called upon to battle the enemies of the Outworld and save the planet from total destruction.” The film stars Ludi Lin, Joe Taslim, Tadanobu Asano and Jessica McNamee.
Tom and Jerry was directed by Tim Story, and it centers on the notorious cartooned cat and mouse duo. The movie, which features a hybrid of live-action and animation, and it stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Michael Pena, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong.
Reminiscence was directed by Lisa Joy (Westworld) and in it, Jackman plays a scientist “who discovers a way to relive any memory and uses the technology to permeate the past of a woman he loves.” The cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Thandie Newton and Daniel Wu.
