Kaley Cuoco Set to Play Doris Day in New Limited Series for Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. Television has announced that they are developing a limited series about the life and career of Doris Day, and the iconic actor, singer and animal rights activist will be played by The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco. The series will be based on A.E. Hotchner’s book of interview’s with the actress titled Doris Day: Her Own Story.

Day starred in many musicals and film roles like Calamity Jane, Alfred Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much, in which she sang the song “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be),” which became her signature song, as well as The Pajama Game and Pillow Talk.

In the 70s, Day turned to animal activism, which is also a cause that is near to Cuoco’s heart. Cuoco is executive producing from her Yes, Norman production label, as well as Greg Berlanti from Berlanti Productions, Sarah Schechter and David Madden. Co-executive producers are Suzanne McCormack from Yes, Norman and Bob Bashara, the trustee from the Doris Day Estate, with which the series will be working.
