Warner Bros.' Wile E. Coyote Movie COYOTE VS. ACME Finds a Director
Get ready for the falling anvils, rocket roller skates, and dynamite! Warner Bros. is moving forward with its Wile E. Coyote movie, Coyote vs. Acme. They have hired Dave Green to direct the live-action animated hybrid film, and the studio is now out looking for a writer.
The animated feature follows the “infamous Looney Tunes prairie woof whose objective is obliterating his nemesis Road Runner. Acme is the fictional company that provides Coyote with his many weapons, all of which invariably fail, leaving him squashed flat or burnt to a crisp.”
Green, a protege of Sam Raimi, has previously directed two other feature films, Earth to Echo, which I enjoyed, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows ,which sucked. Hopefully, his Wile E. Coyote movie ends up being one of his good films because Wile E. Coyote is my favorite Looney Tunes character. It should be fun to see the little critter hilariously torture himself on the big screen.
Coyote vs. Acme producers include Chris McKay (Lego Batman) and screenwriters Jon and Josh Silberman (Deadbeat, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).
