Warner Bros. Wins Movie Rights to Adapt Highly Anticipated Novel BEAST AND BETHANY With Producer David Heyman Attached

Warner Bros. has bought the rights to adapt the highly-anticipated debut novel The Beast and the Bethany by Jack Meggitt-Phillips. The book debuted at the Frankfurt Book Fair, and got a lot of attention, but still won’t be published until 2021. Variety reports that the story is described as “Lemony Snicket meets Dorian Gray,” and follows “a shallow man named Ebenezer Tweezer and a young girl named Bethany, and the prospect of at least one of them getting eaten by a beast in the attic.”

Producer David Heyman (Harry Potter, Gravity, Marriage Story, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood) is attached to the project, and is currently teamed with Warner Bros. to produce the origin story Willy Wonka. He is also currently in pre-production on the third installment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
