WarnerMedia's JUSTICE LEAGUE Investigation is Complete and Ray Fisher Responds
After Justice League actor Ray Fisher made acquisitions against director Josh Whedon and claimed that producers Geoff Johns and Jon Berg enabled his alleged behavior, WarnerMedia launched an investigation into the matter. There’s been a lot of interesting back-and-fourth between WB and Fisher during this time, but five months after Fisher made the claims about misconduct during 2017 reshoots of Justice League, the investigation has come to an end.
The following statement was released: "WarnerMedia’s investigation into the Justice League movie has concluded and remedial action has been taken.” No other details of what actions were taken were shared.
Not long after WarnerMedia released this statement, Fisher shared his own statement on Twitter:
The following was relayed to me on behalf of @WarnerMedia at 5pm EST today:
– The investigation of Justice League is now complete.
– It has lead to remedial action.
(Some we’ve seen, and some that is still to come.)- And this statement (which truly belongs to ALL who participated in the investigation): “WarnerMedia appreciates you having the courage to come forward and assist the company with creating an inclusive and equitable work environment for it’s employees and partners.”
"There are still conversations that need to be had and resolutions that need to be found. Thank you all for your support and encouragement on this journey. We are on our way."
So, while WarnerMedia says things have concluded, Fisher is saying more needs to be done. As for the remedial action, a lot of people believe that this investigation is what led to Joss Whedon stepping down from his HBO series The Nevers. His statement in regards to that said: "I am genuinely exhausted, and am stepping back to martial my energy towards my own life, which is also at the brink of exciting change."
During all of this, Fisher reprised his role as Cyborg to shoot additional scenes for director Zack Snyder's four-hour cut of Justice League, which is coming to HBO Max next year.
I wonder if the details of this will ever be revealed.
