Warwick Davis and Gemma Arterton to Star in New Animated Series MASTER MOLEY
Master Moley is an upcoming animated series for WarnerMedia’s Boomerang outlet. The show comes from James Reatchlous and will star Warwick Davis and Gemma Arterton. The series will comprise of 52 11-minute episodes preceded by a 30-minute special Master Moley By Royal Invitation. The Misadventures of Master Moley will be another special released next year after the series concludes.
The animation follows adventurous mole Master Moley, who lives deep in a burrow under Queen Elizabeth II’s Windsor Castle in the bustling city of MoleTown, where he is the keeper of a magical book, which has the power to bring peace between humans and moles. The heart-warming tale follows Master Moley and his friends on adventurous missions.
Other cast members include Julie Walters, Richard E. Grant, Togo Igawa, and Charles Dance. Leon Joosen is directing Master Moley By Royal Invitation which was written by Ricky Roxburgh and Arthur Landon. The series features a writing team that includes Roxburgh, Tony Nottage, Bart Coughlin, Leanna Dinall, Todd Ludy, and David Schiff.
Reatchlous talked to Variety about how Master Moley got started as bedtime stories for his daughters which he would then write down. He said:
I tried to make them funny and relevant, and slightly educational, but more like amusing and fun. And they just became a big fixture of their childhood.
It’s got diversity; it’s got community; it’s got different nationalities; and it’s got humor all the way through it.
Master Moley By Royal Invitation will air in November with the series and follow-up special launching next year.
