Warwick Davis Would Love to Return to the STAR WARS Universe and Shares The Surprising Character He'd Want to Play Again
Warwick Davis is known for playing many roles throughout the Star Wars universe, beginning with Wicket the Ewok in Return of the Jedi when the actor was just 12 years old, which he returned to in two TV movies. Davis played three roles in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, including Weazal, Wald, and Yoda (as a stand-in). He also played Wollivan in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Weeteef Cyu-Bee in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Wodibin in The Last Jedi, Weazel again in Solo (as well as several droids), and Wizzich Mozzer in The Rise of Skywalker. In the TV series Star Wars Rebels, he voiced Rukh.
He has a long, rich history within the Star Wars lore, and when asked the Danish outlet Moovy TV (via /Film) if he would want to return to play Wicket again, the actor was eager to say he’d love to return, but would be even happier exploring an unexpected character.
"I mean, I've been involved with 'Star Wars' ever since ['Return of the Jedi'] in various forms. I'm often asked to go back and do some of the TV work. But yeah, something for Wicket would be fun, wouldn't it? Although, let's look at the other characters I've played, you know? I think there's some really interesting characters in there. Namely Weeteef from 'Rogue One,' you know, what's happened to him? Did he end up blowing up? I can't remember now. It's all a blur."
Weeteef seems to have survived, as he appeared after a crucial battle in Rogue One. Although it seems as though the actor is up for returning to almost any of his Star Wars characters. He played a freedom fighter in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and he said of that role: "[S]ome of those characters I've played, like Weazel for example in 'Solo.' You know, he's quite an interesting character too, let's find out what he gets up to."
It seems like the Star Wars universe is always expanding and telling stories from all corners of the universe, so it’s likely we will see Davis return one day. Which of his characters would you most like to see him play again?
