Watch A Crazy Trailer For The Steven Soderbergh-Produced Series NOW APOCALYPSE

Now Apocalypse is a new show coming to STARZ. Based solely on the trailer, I can tell there’s going to be a lot of sex, drugs, and just plain weird. The series will premiere at Sundance Film Festival later this month, but it won’t be on STARZ until March 10, 2019.

This surreal, coming-of-age comedy series centers on Ulysses (Avan Jogia, “Tut,” “Twisted”) and his friends Carly (Kelli Berglund, “Lab Rats,” Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors), Ford (Beau Mirchoff, “Awkward,” “The Fosters”) and Severine (Roxane Mesquida, Kaboom, “Gossip Girl”), who are on various quests pursuing love, sex and fame.

Now Apocalypse”explores identity, sexuality and artistry while navigating the strange and oftentimes bewildering city of Los Angeles. Between sexual and romantic dating app adventures, Ulysses grows increasingly troubled as foreboding premonitory dreams make him wonder if some kind of dark and monstrous conspiracy is going on, or if he is just smoking too much weed.

The half-hour comedy series was created and executive produced by Gregg Araki (Kaboom, Mysterious Skin) and it’s being executive produced by Steven Soderbergh (The Girlfriend Experience, Logan Lucky)

Araki co-wrote and directed all 10 half-hour episodes which is described as a “sexy, vibrant and fast-moving series that has a flipside of mythic, dreamlike creepiness.”
