Watch a Rare 1982 "Special Shoot" Teaser Trailer For TRON

Tron was one of those films that was just way ahead of its time. The classic Disney movie didn’t do well when it was first released in theaters, but the fanbase for it grew when it was released on VHS. I personally loved the film when I saw it as a kid, but I do know that my parents didn’t like it.

I recently came across a rare “Special Shoot” teaser trailer that I had never seen before. This is what introduced audiences to the film, it’s the first look that they got and it didn’t reveal much other than the logo and the cast. It’s a big tease meant to build a mystery around the film and get people talking about what the hell it could possibly be.

I would have loved to see and hear what the audience’s reaction to see this teaser was! If there is anyone out there who remembers this, what was going through your head? I also included the full trailer for the film as well.

A rare trailer for Disney's sci-fi classic I found in modest quality, with a different narrator and *absolutely* no film footage. The only thing that can be seen is the CGI mainframe animation, zooming into the film's title.

Kevin Flynn is a former employee of the software corporation ENCOM, now running a arcade. Flynn has been trying to hack into ENCOM's mainframe computer to find evidence that ENCOM's senior executive Ed Dillinger stole four video games he created.
