Watch a Wonderful 2.5-Hour Conversation with Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Taika Waititi, Sam Mendes, and Bong Joon Ho
The Directors Guild of America has shared a wonderful and insightful 2 hour, 41 minute conversation with this year’s Oscar nominees for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film Award. This list of directing talent includes Martin Scorsese (The Irishman), Quentin Tarantino (Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood), Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit), Sam Mendes (1917), and Bong Joon Ho (Parasite).
As you know by now, Bong Joon Ho took home the Oscar for Best Director along with Best Screenplay, Best International Film, and Best Picture. He deserved it all!
The panel was moderated by Jeremy Kagan, and they discuss all kinds of fascinating things in regards to film and directing. If you’re someone who loves film and/or you a filmmaker, or working toward being a filmmaker, this is something you have to watch because they discuss virtually every aspect of the directing process, including their thoughts on video village, how they work with their actors, finding the endings to their stories, and a lot more. I also enjoyed when Bong kind of hijacks the Q&A to ask Scorsese and Tarantino questions.
