Watch Angela Bassett Read Some of Killmonger's Lines from BLACK PANTHER
Michael B. Jordan was incredible in the role of Erik Killmonger in Marvel’s Black Panther. He was potentially one of the best antagonists that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has put out. What if Killmonger was played by Angela Bassett though? That’s a question I never thought of, but someone at BuzzFeed did, so they asked her to read some of Killmonger’s lines. In the film, Bassett plays Queen Ramonda who is the mother of T’Challa and she does a fantastic job in the role. Be warned that minor spoilers are ahead as she does read lines from the film.
It’s better than I thought it would be. I would be interested in seeing an alternate universe where Bassett plays Killmonger (and I would love to see her as Storm), but I still prefer Jordan in the role. My favorite part is when she says “Hey auntie!” The part that makes that better is when she says that she thinks that line was improvised! Can we get Letitia Wright reading some of T’Challa’s lines, but with Shuri’s personality? I think that would be golden!
