Watch Benedict Cumberbatch Audition for Smaug in THE HOBBIT
While we wait for official confirmation from Marvel that Benedict Cumberbatch is playing Doctor Strange, here's a video that features the actor auditioning for Smaug in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy. The video also includes an interview with Cumberbatch as he amusingly recalls his experience of auditioning for the epic film prooject. Jackson, Martin Freeman, and writer/co-producer Philippa Boyens are also interviewed in the video, and they discuss the actor's audition process for the role. After he auditioned for the part he didn't hear back from anyone for a year, but he got the gig, and it was a perfect casting decision.
