Watch Christopher Nolan Break Down The Complex Narrative Structure of MEMENTO

Do you remember the first time that you saw Christopher Nolan's Momento? Holy hell, that is such a great movie! That film had me captivated from beginning to end. It was just one of those mind-blowing movie going experiences. I loved that it gave me something in a film that I had never seen before with it's unique and complex story structure.

An old video was recently pointed out on /Film of Nolan explaining how the movie came to be and breaks down the complex narrative structure of it and uses a chalkboard as a visual aid. It's interesting listening to him talk about how this film all came together and it makes me want to watch it again!

The story for the film follows Leonard (Guy Pearce), who is tracking down the man who raped and murdered his wife. The difficulty, however, of locating his wife's killer is compounded by the fact that he suffers from a rare, untreatable form of memory loss. Although he can recall details of life before his accident, Leonard cannot remember what happened fifteen minutes ago, where he's going, or why.

You can watch Nolan's 18-minute analysis of the film below:
