Watch: Early Tease For GAME OF THRONES Season 6; Teaser Trailer Debuting Sunday
I just finished reading all of the available books in George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, just in time for HBO's unveiling of all of those new Game of Thrones season 6 photos online. The only problem, of course, is that now the show is going to be treading into unfamiliar territory, as the new season will surpass a lot of where Martin left off with his characters in A Dance With Dragons. That could go a couple of different ways, and it'll be interesting to see if the relative freedom showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have moving forward will change the feeling of the show at all, or if they feel more comfortable relying on Martin's source material.
I'm curious to see how it progresses, and now HBO has announced that a trailer for season 6 will debut this Sunday, February 14th, and they've given us a brief look at the House of Black and White to whet our appetites:
I'd be surprised if the teaser revealed very much at all, especially considering how much of the new season will involve story points book readers aren't familiar with. There are still a few storylines that haven't overlapped in the show, though, so I'm betting we'll see a lot of Maisie Williams' Arya and Isaac Hempstead-Wright as Bran, who both have some stuff to do that readers know about before we venture completely past book territory altogether. Stay tuned for the teaser, which will debut right before the 9:00pm premiere of Vinyl and which we'll almost certainly post on the site after it goes up.
The season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones comes to HBO on April 24th.
