Watch: FIREFLY Opening Credits Mashed Up With STAR WARS REBELS

Joss Whedon's Firefly is one of those shows that still retains a remarkable number of hardcore, vocal fans years after it went off the air. Considering how much the geek crowd, myself included, loves the space western series, and how popular Star Wars Rebels is right now, it makes sense that Star Wars Minute would mash up the Firefly intro with footage from Rebels in a new video. (Obviously Firefly was inspired by the original Star Wars, adding even more meta layers to this mashup.) Check it out below (via io9):

Rebels Season 2 starts this week! I find Rebels to be very similar to Firefly, and I mean that as a compliment in every way. So I recreated the Firefly opening credits using Star Wars Rebels characters and footage!
