Watch: GAME OF THRONES VFX Reel Reveals What Went Into Dany's Dragon Escape

For me, the pinnacle of great visual effects in the fifth season of Game of Thrones was the "Hardhome" episode, one of the best episodes in the show's history. We've already shown you a cool video of the behind-the-scenes work that went into creating those awesome battle sequences, but now there's a new one (via Wired) that looks at another of the season's defining moments: when Dany (Emilia Clarke) escapes the fighting pits at the end of "The Dance of Dragons."

Coming on the heels of "Hardhome," I actually remember thinking that a few of these effects looked pretty shoddy in comparison (specifically the background when Dany is actually flying away on Drogon's back), but there are still enough good moments in here to make this worth checking out, and it's always a reminder of how much work goes into creating these spectacular images that we often take for granted when watching shows like this.
