Watch Gary Oldman Brilliantly Play Winston Churchill in First Trailer For DARKEST HOUR

The first trailer has been released for Darkest Hour which comes from director Joe Wright (Atonement, Hanna, Pride & Prejudice, Anna Karenina). Wright is an incredibly talented filmmaker and I've enjoyed most of the films that he's made. Pan isn't one of them. Regardless, it looks like he's done an incredible job bringing this story of Winston Churchill to life.

Gary Oldman takes on the role of Churchill in the film and he's completely transformed himself for the role! He looks unrecognizable. Judging from what I'm seeing in this trailer, we are going to see him give one of the best performances of his career. Hell, maybe this will be the one that finally wins him an Oscar! Here's the synopsis:

A thrilling and inspiring true story begins on the eve of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Academy Award nominee Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.

The supporting cast of the film includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Lily James, Stephen Dillane, Ronald Pickup, and Ben Mendelsohn. Darkest Hour will be released on November 22, 2017. Watch the trailer and let us know what you think!
