Watch: Google Assistant Calls And Schedules A Haircut At Google I/O

AI just hit the next level at Google I/O 2018, as a tech demo for the future of Google Assistant did something truly mind blowing. After being prompted by the user to schedule a haircut appointment, Google Assistant rings up a local salon and schedules the hair appointment:

That's pretty awesome, although I'm wondering why that guy is named Lisa, and why he needs a women's haircut. If I had to guess, it's because the tech demo was performed by someone else, and then recorded for the presentation, but I just think it's hilarious they went to all that trouble only to miss the landing by just a hair. That said, it took me a couple watches to even notice that as I was so blown away by how articulate the Google Assistant was for the call!

Can you imagine having a personal secretary in your pocket to make random phone calls on your behalf? I can't, but I really want that to happen one day!
