California is closer than ever than closing the case of the Golden State Killer, and as Patton Oswalt will tell you, that's in large part thanks to his late wife. For those out of the loop, Oswalt's wife was famed true-crime writer Michelle McNamara, who covered the work of the Golden State Killer extensively. Arresting officers didn't mention McNamara in their press conference, so Oswalt took it upon himself to inform the world that while law enforcement may not acknowledge it, it was McNamara that started this cycle of events.
