Watch Robert Englund Discuss His Career in 50-Minute Q&A at a Screening Event

A Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund recently took part in a Q&A at a special event, Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: A Robert Englund Marathon, which took place at the Aero Theatre. In the hour-long Q&A, the actor reflected on his career, and if you’re a fan of the actor, this is a must watch!

Englund celebrates the 50-year anniversary of his Hollywood career – which began with the 1974 film Buster and Billie – while discussing various projects throughout his career including his time working on Stay Hungry (1976) with Arnold Schwarzenegger, his cherished memories on set of New Nightmare, and working with Kelly Rowland on Freddy vs. Jason. The conversation also turned to Wes Craven’s original draft of Dream Warriors, Englund’s role in “Stranger Things,” and why he likely won’t be returning to the director’s chair.

Englund also shares a fun on-set story from the original Elm Street that still haunts him; he takes a loving jab at “Stranger Things” villain Vecna (“Vecna has stolen Freddy’s cat-like walk a little bit. Wonderful character, wonderful makeup,” he lovingly says); and touches upon a partnership between Freddy Krueger and Pepsi that almost happened many years ago.

As you know, there’s a new documentary coming out that focuses on the actor’s career titled Hollywood Dreams and Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story, which is coming to SCREAMBOX on June 6.

The doc is said to look beyond the film credits and “examines Englund’s career and his navigation through the cutthroat world of Hollywood,” which is sure to be interesting for the fans. There’s going to be a lot of stuff loaded into this doc that we never knew about Englund before.

Englund said in a statement: “This old veteran character actor was surprised and flattered to find he was the subject of the documentary Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares. Collaborating with directors Gary Smart and Christopher Griffiths and the rest of the team was a joy as they are genre fans like me. For Yours Truly, watching the film is a bit like Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn attending their own funeral. Gary, Chris and Adam (Evans) managed to find old movies and TV shows I’d forgotten I was in. I’d come back from the dead! All kidding aside – it’s an accurate memory of a working actor’s journey – dreams can come true.”

Enjoy the the Q&A!
