Watch: Shot For Shot Breakdown of Similarities Between JURASSIC WORLD and The JURASSIC PARK Trilogy

I'm blown away by this video from Vimeo's whoispablo that breaks down the similarities in Jurassic World and the first three movies in the Jurassic Park franchise. I'm impressed not only with how much time it must have taken to put this together, but by just how many shots he was able to find that are almost exact recreations of shots that have appeared in earlier movies.

I liked Jurassic World when I saw it in the theater and nothing will change the feeling I had when I was watching it for the first time, but seeing this video complicates my always-evolving thoughts of the movie. I noticed references and some callbacks to the original films in Jurassic World, but I think seeing them side by side like this makes this film seem somehow a little less impressive than I originally gave it credit for. I wonder if Colin Trevorrow planned for this many shots to align so perfectly; I don't really like trying to second-guess directors and I generally try to give them the benefit of the doubt that everything we see in a film is there for a specific reason, but I wonder if even Trevorrow himself knows how many similarities there are here. Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
