Watch Siskel & Ebert Review BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM Which They Regretted Not Watching When it Was First Released
Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert didn’t review Batman: Mask of the Phantasm when it was initially released in theaters. They waited a whole year after it was released before they reviewed it, and the first thing they say in their review is that they regretted not reviewing it sooner.
They loved the film! They call it smart and beautiful and they wished at the time that Warner Bros. would make more animated films like this with the same production team. The one thing that Siskel said he didn’t like was Mark Hamill’s Joker voice, which I thought was hilarious!
He preferred Jack Nicholson and Cesar Romero’s versions of The Joker, and said: “I don’t like this Joker’s voice.” He’s one of the few people that think that! I think he felt he had to find just one thing to not like about the movie and decided to pick Joker’s voice.
If you’ve never seen this Siskel & Ebert review belore, I think you’ll get a kick out of it! Enjoy!
