Watch Steve Buscemi Play an Evil Alien Overlord in Hilarious Telstra Ads

Steve Buscemi is taking a sharp comedic turn as a cyber-obsessed villain in a new series of ads for Australian telecom provider Telstra.

Playing an evil overlord, Buscemi rallies his crew with plans to unleash “Scamageddon” and conquer Australia through a massive cyber attack, only to have his schemes hilariously unravel.

In the spot, Buscemi declares, “The peoples of Oostralia will soon know the full genius of our evil power. Unleash the Scamageddon! What’s the friggin’ issue now, Craig?” to which his henchman sheepishly replies, “Your Highness, it appears our million scams have been scammed.”

Frustrated, the overlord groans, “OK, what was the one rule I said we had to remember. Don’t target a mighty network!”

The ad campaign cleverly highlights Telstra’s strong cybersecurity protections while letting Buscemi chew the scenery as only he can. I would watch a movie based on this character that Buscemi plays here!
