Watch The First 12-Minutes of THE LAST JEDI Documentary THE DIRECTOR AND THE JEDI

There's a new documentary that's coming out for Star Wars: The Last Jedi called The Director and the Jedi. It recently premiered at SXSW and it offers fans an extensive and in-depth look behind the scenes of Rian Johnson's installment of the Star Wars saga. 

The first 12-minutes of the documentary have been released online thanks to IMDb. It's a great set up and After watching this clip, I just want to watch the whole damn thing! It looks like it will be a fascinating doc to watch for both the fans of The Last Jedi and the haters.

We see the initial reactions of some fans regarding Rian Johnson's involvement with the film. There's footage of Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley reading the script with Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy. There's lots of footage from the production departments and the set of the film and a reaction from Rian Johnson learning that George Lucas wanted to talk to him. The director says his goal was to make the most powerful star wars movie that he possibly can.

An intimate documentary delving into Rian Johnson’s process as he comes in as a director new to the Star Wars universe. A fan since childhood, he sets out to make the most powerful Star Wars movie he can. Navigating the mammoth production, the scale of which he’s never directed before, we meet his cast and crew, see their individual challenges in bringing the film together, say goodbye to Carrie Fisher, and explore the significance of Rian’s more surprising decisions.
The documentary gives you a view of what it really was like to make “The Last Jedi”. As the team strive to do their best, what shines through is their passion and how memorable an experience it is for Rian as director.
