Watch the First Five Minutes of THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS, Which Cover the Origin

Marvel just dropped an extended look at The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and it’s a must-watch for fans. The five-minute clip was unveiled after the film’s world premiere and it teases the team’s retro-inspired origin story, early heroics, and some nostalgic cameos that longtime Marvel followers will appreciate.

The footage kicks things off with Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, hosting a segment called “Fantastic Science with Mr. Fantastic” in front of a class of kids who couldn’t care less. Meanwhile, Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn’s Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm leap into action, using their powers to defend New York City in some stylishly crafted sequences.

Fans get a fun throwback moment when The Thing unleashes his classic battle cry, “It’s Clobberin’ Time,” in full cartoon glory.

One highlight of the clip offers a brief fight with one of Red Ghost’s infamous Super-Apes. The ape makes the cut, but John Malkovich’s Red Ghost himself does not, as he was cut from the final version.

For fans of deep-cut Marvel history, the cameos are a real treat. The original cast from Roger Corman’s unreleased 1990s Fantastic Four film – Alex Hyde-White, Rebecca Staab, Jay Underwood, and Michael Bailey Smith – pop up in this opening sequence, giving a nod to one of Marvel’s strangest cinematic chapters.

Directed by Matt Shakman, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set in a sleek, 1960s-inspired world. The story will see the team take on Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson, and his Herald, the Silver Surfer, portrayed by Julia Garner. The supporting cast features Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles, while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II made an appearance at the premiere as Simon Williams, aka Wonder Man.

Marvel Studios is set to release The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters on July 25, 2025. If this opening sequence is any indication, fans are in for a stylish, action-packed ride that blends classic Marvel energy with a fresh retro spin.
