Watch the Latest YU-GI-OH! MASTER DUEL Trailer from Jump Festa 2022
Yu-Gi-Oh! fans cannot wait for the release of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. This will be an official platform that looks more and more like Magic: The Gathering Arena with each trailer. During Jump Festa 2022, a new gameplay trailer was released (included below) and it shows off some very interesting details of the game. In addition, Konami confirmed that the game will feature cross-progression and cross-play which is sure to be great for duelists as the game is set to launch on Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S for free!
Master Duel Guide put together a great list of things gleaned from the new trailer. We found out that there will be Card Crafting allowing you to break down cards to gain CP which can then be used to craft new cards. It also appears that you’ll need to acquire cards via packs, but not the packs released in real life. Instead, there are Master Packs that cost 100 gems (seems to be the in-game currency) per pack and additional packs are unlocked as you pull certain cards from previous packs. This is an interesting mechanic. It’s unclear if cosmetic items like duel fields will have standard prices or if each one will have a different price, but we saw the Lava Duel Field will cost 400 gems; an icon for Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous will be 50 gems; Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier Card Sleeves will be 100 gems; and Dark Magician Mate (the fun things fans had called pets) will be 300 gems. These are the main highlights, but you can find more details on MDG. Sadly, there’s still no release date for Master Duel, but more info is set to be revealed in January 2022.
