Watch the Lucasfilm STAR WARS Story Group Discuss Han Solo's Dice and Other Secrets From THE LAST JEDI

The latest episode of The Star Wars Show features the Lucasfilm Star Wars story group talking about Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi for about thirty minutes. The Star Wars Show host Andi Gutierrez speaks with the Lucasfilm Story Group's Leland Chee, Pablo Hidalgo, Matt Martin, and Rayne Roberts about the secrets of the latest film in the saga. They talk about all kinds of things including Han Solo's dice from the Millennium Falcon.

I'm sure you remember near the end of the movie when Luke Skywalker hands Leia the dice. This was a touching moment, but at the same time, some people were confused as to why these dice played such a big role.

It's explained that J.J. Abrams originally had a scene in The Force Awakens that showed Han Solo return to the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon for the first time, and he puts the dice back up. Rian Johnson saw that deleted scene and he was obviously heavily inspired by it.

Another thing that's brought up is Luke's compass. Fans have already pointed out that this is the same compass that he acquires in the video game Battlefront II. But, the story group reveals that the connection came a few days before Johnson shot that scene. The group came up with the idea. Dave Filoni, executive producer of Star Wars Rebels, ended up designing it. The prop department brought it to life. The producers liked and approved it. And then it ended up in the movie!

The video below is filled with all kinds of fun little tidbits like that that Star Wars fans will enjoy, so make sure to check it out!
