Watch The Premiere of Cameron Crowe's New Showtime Series ROADIES

Can writer/director Cameron Crowe bounce back from the critical disaster that was his latest film, Aloha? He's going to try with Roadies, his first original series that's set to premiere on Showtime on June 26, 2016. But we won't have to wait until then to see if he's back on track: Showtime has made the pilot episode available for everyone — even non-Showtime subscribers — to watch for free on YouTube, Facebook, and SHO.com starting right now. (Showtime subscribers can watch it on Showtime On Demand.) The only downside is that this version is a rated TV-14, and the press release seems to indicate that the "real" version that actually airs on June 26 will have a different (presumably more adult) rating. Either way, this sample should serve the purpose of seeing whether or not Crowe can handle a different medium than he's used to.

The first original series from creator, executive producer, writer and director Cameron Crowe, ROADIES is a one-hour comedy featuring an ensemble cast headed by Luke Wilson (Old School, Enlightened) and Screen Actors Guild® Award nominee Carla Gugino (San Andreas).  The series gives an insider’s look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of roadies who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way. ROADIES chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes and pays homage to the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring for the successful arena-level group, The Staton-House Band.
