Watch The Wachowskis Talk About Their Career in 100 Minute Interview
Andy and Lana Wachowski are two of the most dynamic filmmakers working in Hollywood today. Their 2012 masterpiece, Cloud Atlas, was overlooked by nearly everyone, but it's a stunningly emotional and vibrant piece of work that will almost certainly be looked back on fondly as an example of ambitious and risky filmmaking that you don't see too often in today's movie landscape. The directors, who most notably created The Matrix franchise, directed yet another underrated film - 2008's Speed Racer - and finally have Jupiter Ascending arriving in theaters this year.
/Film points us to a 100 minute interview the filmmaking duo did last year with the DePaul Visiting Artist Series, in which the writing/directing team talk about everything from developing projects to their influences and much more. It's a fascinating discussion, and worth watching if you're a fan of their work. (For example: did you ever recognize that Snow White and the Huntsman and Moonrise Kingdom are essentially the same movie? Me neither.) Check it out below.
